Communications Intern

Siona Jain is the Communications Intern for the ACLU of Louisiana for the summer of 2021. She currently studies at Phillips Exeter Academy where she leads and facilitates DEIJ work. Over the past year, she has researched for and designed four mini-courses for Phillips Exeter students, including A Vision of Justice, Where We Live: Racial Residential Segregation, Skin Deep: The Racialization of Beauty, and Re-examining Movement: Current Tensions in the Performing Arts.

At school, Siona leads multiple affinity groups and hosts shows that intersect art and activism. Outside of school, she volunteers with the Chicago Justice Project, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Feed My Starving Children, and with the local elementary school, where she reads books featuring diverse characters. Prior to joining the ACLU of Louisiana  this summer, she interned for the Battery Dance Company which strives to make dance more accessible across socioeconomic class.
