Ellen Short joined the ACLU of Louisiana in 2023. Before law school, Ellen attended the University of Washington-Seattle and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies in 2018. In 2019, Ellen began pursuing her law degree at Tulane Law School. While there, she interned with the ACLU of Louisiana's Justice Lab. She also served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Tulane Law Review and Vice President of OUTLaw, Tulane's LGBTQ+ student organization. In 2022, Ellen graduated magna cum laude from Tulane Law School. After law school, Ellen clerked for the Honorable Susie Morgan of the Eastern District of Louisiana.
