ACLU Asks Lafayette Parish To Protect Religious Freedom

When a Muslim woman was incarcerated in the Lafayette Parish Jail last year, she was forced by the Sheriff to remove her religiously mandated head covering, known as a hijab, because jail policies do not provide for head coverings of any kind.

ACLU Seeks Records On Rapides Parish Display

Concerned about the proposed display of the Ten Commandments at the Rapides Parish Courthouse, the ACLU of Louisiana has submitted a request for public records explaining the nature and purpose of the proposed display.
