ACLU Sues Tangipahoa Parish School Board for Seventh Tim

Today the ACLU Foundation of Louisiana filed its seventh lawsuit against the Tangipahoa Parish School Board and its members, for once again adopting a policy unlawfully favoring public prayer. This time the issue is prayer at school board meetings.

ACLU's Lawsuit Prompts New Jail in Acadia Parish

The ACLU Foundation of Louisiana and Acadia Parish have settled a lawsuit over the conditions in the Acadia Parish jail.  On behalf of several prisoners, the ACLU sued Acadia Parish and its Sheriff, Kenneth Goss, because the former jail was filthy, unsanitary, and overcrowded.

NOPD Sued Over Right to Film Police Activities

 NEW ORLEANS - ACLU of Louisiana and the Tulane Law Clinic have jointly sued the New Orleans Police Department, Chief Warren Riley, and several officers for wrongful arrest and suppression of free speech, on behalf of two men who were arrested for filming police interaction with the public.
