NEW ORLEANS — The American Civil Liberties Union today announced strong support of transformational legislation that would hold Louisiana’s police accountable and break the cycle of violence, racism, and corruption that has plagued the state’s law enforcement agencies for decades.

NEW ORLEANS — The American Civil Liberties Union filed a federal lawsuit today challenging newly drawn state House and Senate district maps as unlawfully minimizing the voting strength of Black Louisianans.
NEW ORLEANS – ACLU of Louisiana, ACLU National Voting Rights Project, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and 13 other civil rights organizations submitted a letter urging the Louisiana Legislature to draw State House and Senate maps that provide significant increases in majority-Black opportunity districts.
