Bio

Ashley Fox is an LDF Marshall-Motley Fellow at the ACLU of Louisiana focused on protecting election integrity and ballot access to ensure every voice is heard and every vote counts. She is part of a broader cohort of Marshall-Motley scholars dedicated to pursuing racial justice in the South. Ashley is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, where she served as Editor in Chief of the Vanderbilt Social Justice Reporter. She also served on the Black Law Students Association Board and university-wide Race Research and Justice Graduate Student Board. Ashley was recognized by both the faculty and student government for her demonstrated commitment to ethics and confronting social issues. Prior to law school, Ashley worked for an elected official within the chief policy-making body for the District of Columbia and later served historically underrepresented and marginalized groups within the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She additionally worked to build pipelines for young people into civil service at a democracy-focused nonprofit. Her time in public service ultimately grew her passion for problem-solving at the intersection of law, poverty, and health. Ashley is a Tennessee native and also holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
