Statement of Support for Muslims in Louisiana
The ACLU of Louisiana is committed to preserving the rights and freedoms of everyone in Louisiana. Our Muslim residents and visitors are no exception. We denounce President Trump’s bigoted, unconstitutional order barring refugees, immigrants, and travelers from certain Muslim-majority countries.

ACLU of Louisiana Reaffirms Call For Rejection of Anti-Muslim Bigotry
The Lafayette Police Department has announced that it has dismissed its investigation of an anti-Muslim attack after the victim recanted her story. We don’t know the full story of what happened yesterday, and we don’t know what caused her to recant.

Statement on Lafayette Schools’ Pledge Policy
The ACLU of Louisiana has learned that the Lafayette Parish School Board is considering changing its policy requiring students to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. We urge the school board to respect the rights and beliefs of their students, and rescind the policy.
