NEW ORLEANS – In a letter addressed to U. S. Attorney Duane E. Evans and the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the ACLU of Louisiana called for a pattern or practice investigation into misconduct by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

NEW ORLEANS – In the 22nd case filed as part of its Justice Lab campaign, the ACLU of Louisiana is suing deputies from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office (DPSO) and the Louisiana State Police Department for unnecessary and excessive use of force against a Black man.

NEW ORLEANS – The American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana, alongside Sidley Austin LLP, filed a lawsuit against the City of Eunice, Louisiana, its Chief of Police, and additional employees of the Eunice Police Department on behalf of employee Lieutenant Michael Dunn.

NEW ORLEANS – The ACLU of Louisiana released the below statement following the release of body camera footage showing the final moments leading up to Ronald Greene’s death at the hands of Louisiana State Police. The footage was released following a plea by Greene’s family during an ACLU event.

NEW ORLEANS – ACLU of Louisiana's Justice Lab has filed a lawsuit against two St. Tammany Parish deputies for violently arresting a Black woman at her own home in response to a minor traffic violation she didn’t commit.
