NEW ORLEANS — This past Friday, the Louisiana Supreme Court ruled on two state law questions certified to it by the Fifth Circuit in a federal lawsuit against Black Lives Matter organizer DeRay Mckesson.

NEW ORLEANS — The American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana has filed their second lawsuit against the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, stating that several deputies racially profiled and unjustly interrogated two Black men in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

NEW ORLEANS — The American Civil Liberties Union filed a federal lawsuit today challenging newly drawn state House and Senate district maps as unlawfully minimizing the voting strength of Black Louisianans. 

NEW ORLEANS – ACLU of Louisiana, ACLU National Voting Rights Project, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and 13 other civil rights organizations submitted a letter urging the Louisiana Legislature to draw State House and Senate maps that provide significant increases in majority-Black opportunity districts.
