NEW ORLEANS, La. — The American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana issued the following statement regarding Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn’s announcement that he would rescind his policy banning booster clubs that use city facilities from purchasing Nike products.

NEW ORLEANS -- The American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Louisiana today sent a letter to city of Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn demanding he immediately rescind his memo banning booster clubs that use city facilities from purchasing Nike products.

The Louisiana Department of Corrections has agreed to lift restrictions on media interviews with people incarcerated at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola under the terms of a settlement agreement with the American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana announced today.
